We had a stressful day, so this was the only picture I took, after everyone else was in bed:

Levi threw up in his bed this morning. He didn't even care enough to tell me about it, and he was not acting sick at all, so I didn't discover it until I went to get him dressed and saw the mess in his bed. I figured since he had no fever and had eaten breakfast and seemed just fine that maybe he had just gagged himself on accident somehow, and we went to church as planned. After church, we went to lunch with some friends at the mall food court and Levi didn't really eat much. We didn't think much of it because he's 3 and can be finicky about when he eats, but then he started whining and wouldn't say what was wrong and next thing we knew, he vomited all over himself, the table, the floor...it was so gross. Thankfully we had a change of clothes for him since he is potty training, so we got him cleaned up and waited for a janitor to come clean up the table and floor and headed home. Levi seemed fine after that other than a flushed face and not wanting to eat (he had a piece of toast and a few bites of a waffle, and that's it), but since he had seemed fine at church and then got sick again anyway, we took precautions in case he got sick again. We put towels all over the couch and gave him this ugly green Halloween candy bowl as his sick bucket. Thank God he did not need it. He went to bed 4 hours ago and we haven't heard a peep from him, so we're hoping that's the end of it and he will be back to normal tomorrow (and that nobody else will get whatever he had). Poor kid!

We went to IHOP on Tuesday for National Pancake Day. They had free short stacks of pancakes, and there was a magician/balloon artist there to entertain the kids. The line was ridiculous, so the balloon artist was great while we were waiting. Levi picked out a fish on a pole, and he said he wanted red, so that's what he got. Don't mind my really smudgy coffee table or the fact that the fishing rod is now just a stick because Levi untwisted it. I'm surprised it hasn't popped yet! I've never seen balloon art like this lady did, it was really cute!

Jonas is on the move! He figured out how to climb up onto the hearth. I see a baby gate for the steps in our very near future.

I took the paper towel away about 30 seconds after shooting this because he started to shred it into a million little pieces.

A friend that used to go to my church brought her 5 month old little girl over today for me to do some portraits. So no pics of my boys today, but lots of girly cuteness!

Levi is FINALLY making good progress with potty training. (Yes, once again I was too busy to take any photos until the kids were in bed, so I had to get creative. And don't worry, I won't take any photos of what's IN the potty!) I had tried to get him potty trained before he went to preschool, since he's technically supposed to be potty trained for his class. He wanted nothing to do with it back in August and it was messy and miserable for both of us, so I gave up after a few days of constant accidents and refusal to cooperate. I was going to try again a few months later, but we were trying to move, and then the holidays came, and it just didn't seem like the right time to do it. After we moved and the holidays were over, I decided that the next weekend Shane was home we would put Levi in underwear again and see how he did. He had a few accidents the first day but caught on quickly. One problem: he would NOT wear pants. If we put pants on him, he would completely forget that he was in underwear and have an accident within minutes. Finally today, it seemed to get through to him when I told him that he was in underwear under his pants and if he wanted to stay dry, he could NOT pee in his pants. He did great! Here's hoping he can start wearing underwear outside of the house now. The next step (well, aside from getting him to do #2 in the potty and go overnight without a diaper) will be to ditch the potty inserts so he can use a regular sized toilet while we are away from home. Maybe he will even be able to go to school in underwear sometime soon! I never thought this day would come!

Shane had duty today, so I helped Levi make him a valentine. I guided his hand to draw the heart, but he did the letters all on his own (with me dictating). I think he is doing pretty well for 3.5!

Levi has found his maternal side and decided last night that Curious George was going to be his baby doll. George has been fed and diapered (and used the potty) and put to bed in the swing. He got moved to Levi's bed right after I took this photo, though.

Levi got into the oatmeal, again (yes, he has done this before...). He brought Jonas into it this time too. Both of them were eating handfuls of dry quick-cook oatmeal, and Levi thought it was particularly fun to drop handfuls on his brother's head too. This is what I get for leaving them alone for 30 seconds to go to the bathroom. Oh well, nothing the vacuum couldn't handle. I think I'll be finding flakes of oatmeal in random places for a very long time, though.

Levi dumped about 1/3 of a container of baby puffs on the floor, and I told him he had to clean them up. It took him forever to even get half of them up. 3.5 year olds are very distractable. Oh, and yes, he is wearing a pajama top with regular pants. He managed to lock his bedroom door and then close it behind him. It's a keyed lock, and we don't have the key for it, nor did we want to do any damage trying to get it open, so Shane tried to get it open for a while in the morning and then we gave up and went to church. All I had to dress Levi in was a zip up sweater and jogging pants, so I put the sweater over his pajama top. We were way late to church because of it, but we did eventually get the door open in the afternoon.
